Applications:
Product Information:
- Equipped with a measuring grid and a positioning ring - The sliding plate facilitates operation - The mirror enables easy observation - Suitable for two different testing methods - Safe to operate
The carpet flammability tester is used to detect the impact of small ignition sources on carpets. It can be tested using two methods: the hot metal nut method (BS 4790); and the polymer plate method (ISO 6925 and BS 6307). The test chamber is made of flame - retardant and heat - resistant plates and contains a sliding plate for easy operation. The mirror on the top of the test chamber allows the operator to observe the sample during the test.
Hot Nut Method: Heat the stainless - steel nut to 900°C in a muffle furnace. Place the sample to be tested in the test chamber and use crucible tongs to put the positioning ring on the sample. Place the heated nut in the center of the positioning ring, remove the nut after 30 seconds, and then conduct measurements to evaluate the spread of the ignition point on the sample.
