Introduction
The pycnometer is used to measure the true density and volume density of the material from the sample’s weight and density. Gas pycnometer measures the volume of solids in the sample so as to work out the true density of materials. The mercury pycnometer measures the total volume of samples including the pores so as to figure out the volume density. The true density and volume density are used to calculate the percentage of pores.
