ISO 6925 is an international standard for testing the burning performance of carpets. The purpose of this standard is to evaluate the combustion characteristics and flame spread performance of carpets in fire situations, so as to ensure that the carpets meet the relevant requirements in terms of safety and fire protection.

The standard requires carpet samples to undergo specific testing procedures and perform combustion performance tests under specific experimental conditions. The specific test process is as follows:

1. Preparing the sample:
The carpet sample is prepared and properly treated and prepared according to the requirements specified in the standard, such as removal of impurities and cleaning.

2. Install the sample:
Install the prepared carpet sample on the test device in the laboratory, keeping it in a horizontal position.

3. Ignite the carpet:
A naked flame source is ignited at a specific location above the carpet sample to simulate fire conditions.

4. Measuring combustion characteristics:
Use corresponding instruments and equipment to evaluate the combustion characteristics of carpets by measuring parameters such as carpet ignition time, flame spread speed, flame height, and combustion follow-up time.

5. Record observation results:
During the test, the observed combustion phenomena and flame propagation conditions, such as flame shape, diffusion path and speed, etc. should be recorded.

After the test is completed, the burning performance of the carpet is evaluated according to the test results. According to the ISO 6925 standard, carpets can be classified into different burning classes to evaluate their flame retardancy.

Passing the ISO 6925 carpet burning performance test can help consumers and manufacturers understand the fire performance of carpets and ensure that carpets meet safety standards and regulatory requirements. This helps to improve the safety of the carpet and reduce the risk of fire accidents.

It should be noted that the carpet burning performance test is only a part of the safety evaluation of carpet products. Consumers should also consider other relevant factors when choosing and purchasing carpets, such as material quality and environmental performance.
