    The pilling test is used to evaluate whether the fabric is prone to pilling during use, that is, small particles or balls appear on the surface of the fabric.     a. Evaluation method: Pilling tests are usually performed using laboratory equipment such as the Martindale Pilling Tester. The instrument rubs a fabric sample against a standardized wear material to simulate wear and tear during everyday use.
 
    b. Evaluation Criteria: Pilling test criteria are usually based on the number, size and density of pilling to evaluate the quality of the fabric. In general, the lower the number of pills, the smaller the size, and the lower the density, the better the quality of the fabric.
 
    c. Reporting Results: The results of the pilling test are usually reported as a Pilling Index or Pilling Rating. The lower the index or rating, the less pilling problems the fabric has and the better the quality.
