Surgical Masks Textile Martindale Abrasion Tester
2023/09/07
The Martindale abrasion tester is used to determine the pressure difference index of medical surgical masks under specified conditions. The Medical Mask Differential Pressure Tester is another device that can be used for this purpose.
Martindale Abrasion tester - 4 heads mainly applies to the resistance test of textile and outside layer, lining or underlayer of the footware or the similar fabric. Testing the samples as per the standard, test can be classified as dry test and wet test. And test the samples Lissajous-oriented for the regulated times, then observe the difference between it and the original samples and decide the grade of scrubbing resistance.
Conform to the standard:
ISO12947.2-1988,ISO12947.3-1988,GB/T21196.2-2007,GB/T21196.3-2007ASTM-D4966

Product Feature:
- Scientific structure design, no need to move the cover plate can easily load and unload samples;
- A variety of test modes are available, while the ball and wear resistance function, and can be implemented national and American standards;
- With Chinese and English bilingual optional menu interface, adapt to different user needs;
- Imported 5.7-inch color touch screen control, the interface is clear and easy to understand, intuitive and convenient to operate;
- Programmable controller (PLC) modular control, reliable, stronger anti-jamming, not easy to crash, suitable for long time running;
- It adopts two working modes of minus count and plus count, and has added and accumulated count in the middle, which is convenient for users to test.
1. Differential Pressure Testing (DPT): This is a commonly used method for testing the breathability of masks. It evaluates breathability by measuring the difference in air flow between inhalation and exhalation of the mask fabric. This test method measures the pressure difference, usually expressed in millimeters of water column (mm H2O), created by the flow of air through the fabric at a standard flow rate. A lower differential pressure indicates better air permeability.

2. Static Air Permeability Testing: This test method evaluates air permeability by measuring the rate of air permeation through the mask fabric per unit of time. It uses an instrument to apply a certain amount of air pressure to the sample and then measures the amount of air flow through the fabric. A more breathable fabric will allow more air to pass through.
These test methods usually need to be carried out in specialized laboratories or certification bodies who can provide accurate test results and certificates. Please note that different types of masks may have different requirements and standards, so it is recommended that testing and assessment be carried out in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations.
Given the complexity of breathability of mask fabrics, a number of factors should be considered when selecting and using masks, such as breathability, filtration performance and sealing. It is important to ensure that the masks comply with the relevant standards and that appropriate choices are made according to individual needs and specific circumstances.
