Widely use of Cone calorimeter

Cone calorimeter plays a very important role in predicting the fire hazard and its flame prevention and control. Cone calorimeter is widely used to measure the heat release rate in material combustion process accurately, to evaluate the combustion performance of the material and to measure the core parameters of the product in the fire.
Application of cone calorimeter.
1. Cone calorimeter is a very useful tool for determining many basic combustion parameters of materials under predetermined conditions, while providing useful information for research and development.
2. The reproducibility of the test is dependent on the sample and combustion model, but the test results may be particularly good.
3. Be careful in interpreting test data, because a few samples appear to be in steady state combustion, so the data of thermal release rate may depend on the selection of the test terminal, sample preparation and sample thickness.
4. The sample preparation has an important influence on the test results. In some cases, the test results are not absolute and partly depend on the equipment situation.
5. In some materials such as comparison and evaluation will summon the rapid melting of the swelling of materials or thermoplastic foam plastics and fiber mat have difficulty, because in the test, these materials may change.
6. A great deal of work is required to illustrate the sample and test conditions of the materials and products. From the point of view of the unsteady combustion characteristics of many materials and the effects of chemical changes and physical changes, those properties that are related to actual fire in the sample performance must be considered.
