     Abrasives are for scratching to change a surface. They can be used as powder or grit, but are more commonly combined with other materials and converted in forms such as sheets, rolls, discs, wheels, belts and paste.

    Abrasives are substances used to smooth out or machine (to shape or wrap up by hardware) other gentler materials through broad rubbing. They work by scratching endlessly the surface of materials with a specific end goal to free it of undesirable unpleasantness or substances. Normal illustrations incorporate, pumice, sandpaper, emery, and sand.

Common applications for abrasives include the following:
Buffing;
Honing;
Drilling;
Grinding;
Sanding;
Polishing;
Cutting;
Sharpening;
Further abrasives can also be used for various applications which include:

control cables in bicycle brakes, car parking brakes & chokes, etc
Abrasives are used in flexible steel hoses like shower hoses, armored cables, etc
used in collets for chucks;
used in diesel injection needles;
used in valve stems such as internal combustion engine valves;
used in axle shafts;
Abrasives are used in hypodermic needles in medical, dental & veterinary;
used in tungsten rod for contact points;
used in precious metal contact points;
used in tungsten wire electrodes for lamp bulbs;
Abrasives are used in trigger components for firearms;
sprag bar for sprag clutches in automotive transmissions, elevators, helicopter transmissions
used in precious tubes in solar panels, soldering irons, etc.
used in spark plug electrodes;
used in copper rod for soldering guns;
used in piston rings;
used in cutting expensive metals;
used in laminated magnetic cores like transformer cores;
used in Ferrite Rods for Magnets;
used in high speed steel (twist drills, etc.);
used in sewing needles;
used in wafering in various materials;
used in capillary tubes metal and glass;
used in tubing for extendable telescopic aerials;
used in thin walled tubes in aircraft, helicopters;
