Although ultraviolet light (UV) only accounts for 6% of sunlight, it is the main lighting factor that reduces the durability of outdoor products. This is because the photochemical effects of sunlight increase with decreasing wavelength. It is therefore not necessary to reproduce the entire sunlight spectrum when simulating the damaging effects of sunlight on the physical properties of materials.
