Abstract: As a very popular product nowadays, electronic components must undergo many many kinds of tests, including many kinds of aging tests, such as light aging test, thermal aging test, moist heat aging test, salt fog aging test, ozone aging test, high and low-temperature cycling test, etc.

1. Light aging test:
 
Light aging is the main aging damage of outdoor materials, and indoor materials will also be subject to a certain degree of light aging. The three main light sources for simulating light aging have their own advantages. The carbon arc lamp was first invented and used. The measurement system was established earlier. Many Japanese standards and standards for fiber materials use carbon arc lamps. However, due to its high price and unstable performance (the lamp tube needs to be replaced after 90 hours of use), carbon arc lamps have been gradually replaced by xenon arc lamps and ultraviolet lamps. Xenon lamp has great advantages in simulating natural light, and its price is relatively low, which is suitable for most products.
 
The ultraviolet lamp produces light below 400nm. The ultraviolet aging test chamber can better accelerate the destruction of materials by ultraviolet rays in simulated natural light. The acceleration factor is higher than that of xenon lamps, and the light source stability is also better than that of a xenon lamp, but it is easy to produce the destruction of non-natural light (especially UVB lamp).
 
2. Thermal aging
 
The thermal aging box has a program function, which can set the temperature change through the program, and is suitable for the thermal aging needs of various products.
 
Main application scope: a thermal aging test of various products, such as PCB board, insulating rubber in electrical appliances, long-life products (such as jacket material for cable-stayed bridge, with a service life of more than 20 years), etc., to investigate the change of product performance with the passage of service time and the reliability of product use.
 
3. Damp-heat aging
 
In addition, humidity and temperature change curves can be set according to different product standards and enterprise standards, which is suitable for various complex damp and heat aging tests. During the use of the product, it is easy to be affected by both temperature and humidity. For some water-sensitive materials, such as PET, PBT, etc., it is necessary to conduct a hygrothermal aging test to assess whether it is suitable for long-term use in a humid environment.

4. Salt fog aging
 
Conduct neutral salt spray, acid salt spray, and copper ion accelerated salt spray tests. It is mainly used to simulate the corrosion effect of sodium chloride dissolved in water vapor in the atmosphere on coating, coating, and other protective processes as well as metal ground materials, especially in coastal areas and areas around inland salt lakes, where the salt content in the air is high, and the products are vulnerable to salt spray corrosion.
 
Main applicable products: all kinds of coatings, such as building exterior wall coatings, marine coatings, container coatings, etc., all kinds of coatings.
 
5. Ozone aging
 
The ozone resistance of rubber (rubber contains a large number of double bonds and is vulnerable to ozone attack, especially when it is used dynamically or stretched, ozone damage to rubber is more serious), and the ozone resistance of TPU, EPDM, and other new elastomers can also be investigated.
 
6. High and low-temperature cycle
 
Main reference standards: GB/T 2423, JG/T 25 Standard for Determination of Freeze-Thaw Cycling Resistance of Architectural Coatings, etc. The test can be carried out according to the relevant test methods of high and low-temperature cycling and freeze-thaw cycling in different product standards. It is mainly used for the detection of building coatings and equipment used in special environments.
