Circular Locus Pilling Tester - the tool for evaluating fabric pilling
2023/03/10
The Circular Locus Pilling Tester is a test device designed to evaluate the life and durability of fabrics by simulating the wear and tear of pile during use.
The tester works by applying a force and rotational movement to the surface of the pile, causing the pile to rub against a circular track and eventually reach a certain level of wear. The tester records the shedding and wear of the ball fleece and assesses the quality of the fabric against the criteria.

The tester basically consists of a test platform, a pendulum arm, a weighted ball and a control system. The test is carried out by cutting the sample into rectangles of the same size and placing them on the test platform. The weighted ball is then placed at the end of the swing arm and set to oscillate along a circular path on the test platform. During the oscillation process, the weighted ball exerts pressure and friction on the surface of the sample on the test platform, simulating the friction between clothes and other objects in everyday use. At the end of the test, the degree of pilling and anti-pilling properties of the textile can be assessed according to the test method.
Compared to traditional manual methods, the Circular Locus Pilling Tester is easy to use, effective and repeatable, greatly improving the accuracy and precision of the pilling and anti-pilling properties of textiles. It is widely used in textile production and quality control, helping textile manufacturers to determine and control the degree of pilling in textiles, thus improving product quality and corporate brand value.
The Circular Locus Pilling Tester helps manufacturers to check the quality of raw materials and improve the durability and practicality of their fabrics. It is also an essential tool for product quality control and improvement in the household, clothing and sporting goods industries.
